I’ve moved on to the notion that a more manageable way of listing exhibitions might be to do three separate posts covering
Major / National Art Galleries & Museums – essentially those
who are recipients on major grant in aid from the Department for
Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS);
Significant Art Galleries & Museums – these are typically
smaller art galleries and museums (but they’re not small!) which have
either notable permanent collections and/or put on notable exhibitions;
Specialist Art Galleries & Museums – those which tend to be
focused on a specific subject or genre

a living, spoken language. From romantic poetry and international treaties,
to shopping lists and tax returns, the hieroglyphic inscriptions and ancient

Over the course of this year, we’re updating the Tate Britain

times while this takes place. If you’d like to see a favourite work of
before you visit. The work will be fully completed in 2023.
There’s nothing, except for the permanent collection, which makes me want
to visit Tate Britain. I remember when there used to be a blockbuster every
winter – but not this winter it appears….
